Development of a contact-free method for monitoring the electrical conductivity of liquid metal based on the analysis of flow pulsations in an alternating magnetic field.

pic17An experimental study of the flow of liquid metal under the influence of an alternating magnetic field was carried out. The value of the electrical conductivity of the medium can be reconstructed based on the comparison of the results of frequency measurements with the results of calculations. This allows us to assess the relative change of the medium properties. The appearance of impurities in the initially pure molten metal inevitably affects its electrical conductivity. This, in turn, leads to a change in the pulsation frequency. The described technique makes it possible to record this change.
