WINTER SCHOOL ON CONTINUUM MECHANICS
The first Winter School on Continuum Mechanics was organized in 1975 by research scientists of the Department of Polymer Physics of the Ural Scientific Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Since then, the School has been held regularly at the end of winter in odd-numbered years.
The conference covers a wide scope of topics ranging from classic academic fields to most perspective trends in continuum mechanics:
- computational continuum mechanics
- physics and mechanics of meso- and nanostructured systems
- mechanics of functional materials
- convection, hydrodynamic stability and turbulence
- hydrodynamics of non-Newtonian fluids and fluids with special properties
- fundamental and applied magnetic hydrodynamics
- continuum mechanics in biology and medicine
- mining mechanics, monitoring of natural and man-made systems

RUSSIAN CONFERENCE ON MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMICS (RMHD)
The Russian Conference on Magnetohydrodynamics is a unique, specialized scientific event dedicated to research in applied and fundamental magnetic hydrodynamics in Russia. It aims to provide a platform for networking and collaboration of researchers in the field of conducting fluid motion. The conference has been held at the ICMM UB RAS since 2012 every three years in early summer. The participants of the conference are scientists from the leading Russian and foreign centers, which gives the event an international character.
The conference covers both fundamental research and technological applications, including:
- fundamental concepts of magnetic hydrodynamics; MHD turbulence
- astrophysical and geophysical MHD
- magnetic fluids
- applied magnetic hydrodynamics

The scope of the Conference covers the following subjects:
- generation and evolution of large-scale vortex structures in turbulent flows, processes of heat and mass transfer in the atmosphere and ocean, generation of magnetic fields by a turbulent flow of conducting liquids
- formation of dynamic and dissipative structures on phase interfaces, hydrodynamics of systems with interfaces
- hydrodynamic stability and mechanisms of transition to complex non-periodic modes, including chaotic behavior
- acoustic and wave processes in heterogeneous media
- nonstationary processes in liquids with special properties and dispersed media
- nonlinear dynamics and biophysics
- global changes and ecosystems
- problems of pollutant transport in large water bodies and solving the problems of sustainable water use
- problems of aeroacoustics with reference to the design and production of aircraft engines
