A method for determining elastic moduli and Poisson's ratios of multimodulus materials was developed based on the results of strain measurement with a fiber-optic sensor in rectangular samples subjected to a four-point bending test. The method relies on the constructed analytical solution for a beam made of the material with different moduli. Using this method it is possible to calculate elastic constants based on the results of strain measurements and numerical modeling that allow for more accurate determination of sample sizes. Maximum errors in determining the elastic constants, which are due to the strain measurement errors, were estimated. It was shown that the estimates of the sample sizes are consistent with the beam theory predictions.
